Light-up Blackfalds

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Blackfalds as of Wednesday night’s Light Up celebrations presented by Stantec. The annual lighting up celebration was well attended as hundreds of families gathered at Tayles Park. Festivities were hosted by Kurt Jensen, town event organizer and Brad Vander Hayden of Stantec. The Chamber of Commerce presented the Passport to Christmas Early Bird Winners including Jennifer Grayson who picked up $500 Blackfalds Bucks. Then it was on to throw the big switch as Leslie Esteves of the Recreation Board led the ten second countdown with Kurt. Dancer’s Edge performed at the park as did the Iron Ridge Educational Campus Choir.
This is the by far the best light display in Central Alberta and everyone in attendance seemed thrilled, a truly spectacular event of which everyone at the town hall and all residents can be proud.
