The Town of Blackfalds is excited to announce that former Mayor Melodie Stol was awarded the Award of Excellence on Nov. 22 at this year’s AUMA Conference in Calgary. The award recognizes outstanding civic leadership by past and present municipal officials who have met the three-year service requirement.
In addition, the town was selected to receive the prestigious Municipal Sustainability in Action Award in recognition of the success of the Wadey Centre Project which involved the transformation of a 101-year-old heritage home into a Visitor Information Centre and offices for the Blackfalds Chamber of Commerce and Historical Society.
The project was achieved through the collaboration with regional tourism and business organizations. Mayor Richard Poole was in attendance to receive the reward.
