Blackfalds and District Chamber of Commerce held their regular meeting Thursday, Nov. 2.
Among the items on the agenda were the upcoming Merry Market, Passport to Christmas and Christmas Gala.
Prior to the official meeting getting underway, guest speaker Nicole Lorrain, Workforce Consultant with Canada Alberta Job Grant talked about the grant, some changes that have been made to the program and how it could benefit local business and their employees.
The Merry Market Trade Show & Craft Sale is coming up quickly running Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 18 – 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Blackfalds Abbey Centre.
Unfortunately the Christmas Gala scheduled for Nov. 25 was cancelled. Passport to Christmas is out, look for them at participating local businesses. Deadline to have your Passport in is Dec. 19 but early bird draws need to be in by Nov. 15 and 28. Early bird winners will be announced at Light up Blackfalds at Tayles Park on Nov. 29.
A chamber evening business social was held Dec. 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wadey House.
Sadly the chamber is saying goodbye to President Chrystal Smith, of Nurture Spa who is stepping down. VP Kevin Hallet of Ing & McKee Insurance will take the helm until the AGM in February.
Regular meetings will move to the Wadey House where chamber offices are located starting Jan. 4, 2018.
