Tutty family honoured by town

The town will preserve green space in the proposed Blackfalds Crossing development with the creation of Tutty Pond.
Land that has a pond, and was owned by the Tutty family, was earmarked in previous land negotiations as Municipal Reserve (MR) and will be converted into a park area. It is part of the Blackfalds Crossing development and Broadway Avenue Re-alignment/Hwy 2A intersection upgrade project.
Sean Barnes, Director of Community Services for the Town of Blackfalds, in his report to council during its regular meeting April 11, said that administration considers the MR parcel as “valuable and useable green space that will provide passive public enjoyment and integration of the trail system to assist in trail connectivity northward towards town center.”
Director Barnes said the cost is about $90,000 and is expected to be completed this year.
